CYO Board Member Responsibilities
Board positions such as President, Vice President, Girl's Athletic Director, Boy's Athletic Director, Treasurer and Registration Coordinator must be approved by the Parish Priest Supervisor.
This member assists the Board President as needed. Contacting coaches and players that need assistance with registration verification.
These members communicate all AOP, regional, and Parish bylaws, check coaches and player eligibility with the Parish office, complete seasonal rosters, and attend sporting events that may need a Board member present (suspected intervention needed, checking on players and coaches, etc.)
Boys -
Fall: Cross Country (coed), Soccer (coed)
Winter: Boys Basketball
Spring: Baseball, Boys Lacrosse, Track (coed)
Girls -
Fall: Cheerleading, Field Hockey, Volleyball
Winter: Girls Basketball
Spring: Girls Lacrosse, Softball
This member ensures accuracy of all income and expenditures, distributes checks, tracks donations, handles all CYO accounting, pays vendors and other parties, provides insight for the CYO budget and works with St Joe's Parish leaders and their financial manager to ensure financial responsibility for CYO.
This member is responsible for taking minutes at each CYO Board meeting and distributing the minutes and plans of action to board members.
This member is responsible for ensuring all player and coach registrations are set up as per Archdiocesan guidelines as well as St. Joseph and Region 17 policies and procedures. This includes all Fall, Winter and Spring sports as well as any clinics or special events. This person will work closely with the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Athletic Directors as well as the Parish office to determine who is eligible to play as well as any scholarships or refunds that may be deemed necessary. The Registration Coordinator also assigns all players and coaches to their perspective team rosters once assessments and clearances have been completed. He or she must ensure good communication with inquiring families, coaches and Board members is done in a timely fashion as well as post when the registrations open and close to all families.
This member is in charge of all social media posts as well as communicating with players, families, and the board.
This member is in charge of uniform and equipment needs for all teams throughout the year. This includes distribution, collection, and storage of the uniforms as well as prepping each season for equipment needs i.e., basketballs, volleyballs, nets, goals, bats etc..
This member is responsible for organizing one large charity event per season (Fall, Winter and Spring) or one for entire year and organizing the CYO Mass with our Pastor for each season.
This member organizes fundraising opportunities for CYO.
This member is responsible for setting up CYO board meetings, working with outside organizations to create and confirm field rental, and uploading sports game schedules to TeamSnap to allow for fans to join and access game information.
This member works with both the Home School Association and CYO Board to coordinate efforts.
These members are responsible for working with the AOP Sport Commissioners, St Joseph CYO board, and all coaches within their sport to keep all parties on the same page.
